Weekly Photo Challenge: Regret

When Nolan (my best friends kiddo) turned one, he experienced chocolate cake for the first time. What started off as a slice of heaven turned into regret pretty quickly. This series of photos always makes me laugh and hits a little too close to home. On the rare occasion that I eat cake, I have a tendency to binge. Binge meaning I’ll eat half of a 9×13 sheet pan of cake smothered in frosting in about one sitting. I can relate to your bittersweet pain, lil Nolan.

“must get cake in mouth as fast as possible”

“face stuffing is serious business”

“CHOCOLATE=HAPPINESS”
(this is where one should stop eating, at the happy stage. The point where you feel satisfied and you don’t yet hate yourself. I’m still learning too, Nolan.)

First the cake coma sets in. You don’t feel any pain yet, you are just numb.

“I did something bad. Something very, very bad. This is starting to not feel so good.”

“This was a terrible idea. How could you let me do this to myself?!”

THE ULTIMATE REGRET
“Take it back, take all the cake back, this is not worth it! Oh the betrayal, it burns!”

  2. Hahaha, just what I needed – a bit of cake envy and a good laugh! Poor little Nolan! But Court, you’ve captured every moment and it’s truthfulness perfectly, your captions couldn’t be any more true to the feeling of eating good cake! :)

  3. Hahaha! Ohhhhh the memories. That was so funny, and you took such beautiful photos. Your captions make them even better! I feel you on the cake. If it’s chocolate w/ more chocolate, I could eat that much (or more) in one sitting. Cake is sooo goooood! And I know how healthy you eat, so honestly? I think you deserve a good binge every-so-often. =D
